| A new inner and outer windshield will set you back $350+ shipping
PLUS you still have to buy the glass and other small items (wipers, correct
weather strip etc). |
| My MD Juan OUTER frame installed correctly on the pivots on
the jeep cowl. Cool.. this should be easy. So I try and take off the INNER
frame to install the glass.... that's when I discover THIS. |
|
| The inner channel is supposed to slide out (towards the camera).
But some genius at MD Juan welded on the channel to far back... so the outer
frame is in the way. The repair entails removing the channel. The channel
is held on by spot welds that merely pop off. Another red flag. |
| WOW... not only was the channel NOT primed, but it already had significant
rust. The original windshield lasted 60+ years... this MD Juan part is already
rusting away in less than a year. |
|
| So, $400+ later I have a windshield that I need to perform
MAJOR corrections on, and also rust removal. If you restore a jeep... PLEASE
consider saving the original parts as the 'replacement' parts are not only
of POOR QUALITY, but will require significant time and MONEY to fix... you
are better off not supporting the vendors that let this garbage out of THIER
shop and maybe send a message to MD Juan that their parts SUCK. |
| This is NOT the first issue. I had a rear floor that was 2
inches to long(?) Not sure what model jeep increased its wheel base 2 inches...
but MD Juan/Jeep Vendors will sell you a floor for it. |
